DE PERE, Wis. (WBAY) - The City of De Pere Health Department says there have been several confirmed and probable cases of pertussis (“whooping cough”) at multiple buildings within the Unified School District of De Pere.

In a memo issued Monday, the health department said close contacts are being notified by their associated health department and specific notification letters have been sent to the affected schools.

Parents are asked to visit the WI Immunization Registry to see if you/your child is up to date or contact their medical provider/De Pere Health Department for vaccination information.

De Pere Health Dept will have TDaP available for adults 19 and older regardless of insurance and DTaP/TDaP for children under 19 without insurance or on Medicaid on Wednesday, April 24, 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 335 S. Broadway.

This latest notification comes after possible cases of whooping cough were being investigated last week at De Pere High School.
