Bojangles, the massively popular Southern fast-food chain specializing in fried chicken and biscuits is making it way to Los Angeles County, the company announced Monday.

In a news release, the Charlotte, N.C.-based chicken joint said it plans to open 30 locations over the next six years across the county, beginning in early 2025. Franchisee Lorenzo Boucetta, of L.A., and Poulet Brothers, LLC. will lead the chain’s efforts to open up in the Southland.

“From the moment I was first introduced to Bojangles, I knew immediately that this was a brand that I wanted to be a part of,” Broucetta said. “The delicious chicken, biscuits, and breakfast, combined with strong unit economics and unparalleled support made the decision a no-brainer for me.”

The 30 planned L.A. County locations will join Bojangles’ portfolio of over 800 restaurants across the United States. The chain, which first opened in Charlotte in 1977, has locations in 16 states as of 2024, including 349 in North Carolina, 149 in South Carolina and 106 in Georgia. Last month it announced plans to expand to Phoenix.

In its announcement Monday, Bojangles also said it has franchising opportunities in other “prime” California areas available, suggesting that the company is open to planting its flag in the Golden State outside of L.A. County as well.

Bojangles has an extensive menu of cajun-seasoned fried chicken and buttermilk biscuits.
