OIC Observatory Reports Surge in Israeli Violence in West Bank

JEDDAH: The Israeli occupation forces escalated their attacks in the Gaza Strip over the last few days, particularly on March 20 and 21, 2024. According to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Observatory on Israel’s crimes against Palestinians, a total of 606 Palestinians were killed and 922 others were injured during the week spanning from March 19 to March 25, 2024.

The Israeli occupation forces increased their attacks in the Gaza Strip during last couple of days particularly on March 20 and 21, 2024. According to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Observatory on Israel’s crimes against Palestinians, a total of 606 Palestinians were killed and 922 others were injured during the week spanning from March 19 to March 25, 2024.

In the Gaza Strip, scores of innocent people were killed by the Israeli bombing in the Nuseirat and Jabalia camps last Wednesday, March 20, along with the killing of 23 others as a result of the bombing of tribal committees working on the distribution of aid at the Kuwait Roundabout near Al-Rashid Street in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, confirmed that over a million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are facing catastrophic famine.

The Israeli occupation forces carried out a second attack on Al-Shifa Medical Complex in central Gaza, resulting in the deaths of 50 people. They also arrested 200 Palestinians and continued to invade the hospital as of the latest reports. After hundreds of people were displaced from the hospital, the media received horrific testimonies from fleeing Palestinians revealing atrocities committed by the Israeli forces after taking control of Al-Shifa.

In the West Bank, March 21, 2024, was considered a bloody day, as the number of killings reached 9, whereas 16 others were killed during the period from 19-25 March 2024. The occupation forces arrested about 154 people during the same period, and had 21 attacks on towns and villages in the West Bank including one of the brutal incidents of the stabbing by settlers of a Palestinian driver in Jerusalem.

Israeli violations against Palestinians in the West Bank included the confiscation of 8000 square meters of land in Jericho. The OIC Observatory also documented numerous Israeli violations targeting the economic interests of Palestinians, such as confiscating two bulldozers in Jenin and Qalqilya, demolishing commercial and service facilities in Hebron and Jerusalem, uprooting 150 olive trees, bulldozing agricultural land in Bethlehem, and confiscating many properties. The total number of Israeli violations against Palestinians during the past week reached approximately 2,366, including road closures, erecting checkpoints, and shooting, said the OIC report.

Regarding the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, last month, approximately 3,274 settlers stormed the mosque via the Mughrabi Gate.
