Rockford, Ill. (WTVO) — May is Mental Health Awareness Month and Kevin Polky from Four Corners Wellness Center is sharing how we can stay on top of our mental health.

Kevin compares taking care of our mental health to exercising our bodies. He says that mental health is a muscle that grows or deteriorates based on use and it’s all about developing a lifestyle that creates a routine.

For Kevin, having a plan is important to be aware of our emotions. Kevin plans by setting time aside to for meditation, devotion, and quiet. All those things go into preparing him for the day.
